You have to find what is worth suffering for. And by suffering, I do literally mean exactly that. You have to find something that makes you uncomfortable. Something that takes discipline and hard work. Something that sometimes requires you to push past your boundaries and do things you don’t want to do. Something that forces you to grow. When you find it, and after all that still feel the passion to do it? It is the most rewarding and fulfilling feeling in the world. You’ve found what’s worth suffering for to you. That’s what acting is for me.
“Being an actor is not all the glitz and glamour you see on your screens all the time. It’s a whole lot of no’s, feelings of inadequacy, comparing, etc.”
It’s a lot of patience and learning to be kind to yourself and kind to the work. Always be kind and open to the work. I do it because nothing excites me more than getting to work on a new character, a new story, a new experience. Getting the opportunity to play these characters makes all the blood, sweat, and tears so incredibly worth it all. It makes those moments of adversity seem so minuscule in comparison to the joy and absolute freedom I get from acting.”
