Stephanie + Perry | Married

Stephanie and Perry’s wedding in November was my last of 2017 and precisely what I dreamed ending my season with. They themselves are an exceptionally kind and giving couple. Even with the attention on themselves, they remained kind and accommodating to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves as much as possible. A prime example of the special attention you see below in the welcome bags prepared for guests from out of town. That is a truly beautiful thing to witness as a wedding photographer who attends hundreds of weddings. Beyond that, every detail was carefully considered and couldn’t be more them; or more stunning. A feat only possible by those as tasteful and hard working as Stephanie, Perry, Tania and Leora (Blanc Events). The teams behind it all were simply exceptional.

Espace 3550, also known as Parisian Laundry, is the perfect canvas for a chic city wedding of 180 people. You walk through the doors to a magnificently large mirror dressed with calligraphy and surrounded by buckets of florals. The space upstairs had an innovative circular set up which accommodated a mostly standing ceremony, which was stunning at all angles. A musician from Nashville, Tennessee was flown in to sing during the cocktails while a 3 piece Motown band played 3 sets throughout the reception. With Perry being in the music industry, there was no surprise that the night would include a number of talents, including Scratch Bastid, Grandtheft and Toddy Flores.

Images during the ceremony are kept for the couple and their closest friends and family, to retain some privacy of the day. I’m beyond ecstatic to share what you see, many aesthetic achievements and a choice gathering of loved ones.

My utmost love and congratulations to Stephanie and Perry!

A very special thank you to John Koo and Maurizio Solis, who helped me to photograph this event.

Hannah + Justin | Married

Thunderstorms woke up the entire city at 6am but the day seemed to clear up, beautiful and sunny. I visit the guys, the ladies and off we go to the meeting spot at Westmount park so that Hannah and Justin can see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Waiting in the car for Justin's limo to arrive, the sun is almost immediately swallowed up with rain clouds and it's torrential downpour. This is the moment where a photographer has to say, do we wait for it to pass? How much time do we have to wait it out, or to travel to our Plan B? This is the sort of pressure wedding photographers deal with on a weekly basis, more than once (and only 1 of the many problems we may need to solve). This pressure is exactly why I've been photographing weddings for 10 years and why I still love them. They still give me butterflies. If we weren't pushed to work under pressure, we wouldn't get striking material that is so special to us and our especially our clients.

The second major important factor that makes me proud of this day is that H+J were calm, trusting and simply happy - this was their wedding day. Why shouldn't they be. They were getting married and letting the pros do the thinking. There was a huge and incredible team that worked on this day, and we were working for them. The important thing for future brides to know is that your team works you so you can enjoy every second. H+J prove that it's so important, just look at them in these photos They'll look at these photos for their entire lives, and they won't remember any stress.

I'm honoured to work for the most fun and loving couple. Hannah, you're a beauty, the life of the party, this, and every party. Justin, I haven't known you as long as Hannah, but it's obvious you're the best man to be coupled with this lady; kind, funny and maybe just a little handsome!

Congratulations H+J!

Hitched MTL

Hitched MTL was an incredible experience to be a part of! The event was the only of it's kind in town and first of what will hopefully be a yearly event to benefit a great cause and help bride and groom's find the best vendors Montreal has to offer.

The event consisted of approximately 40 vendors and 120 guests, all bride and grooms to-be. The event donated all of it's earnings to the Montreal Children's Hospital, while putting on a pretty spectacular party. Food, drink, music, and a show!

Thank you Hitched MTL for allowing me to join!
